Colchester Hosts Next Wave of MMA Talent at Cage Warriors Academy 41
Cage Warriors Academy 41 takes place on 18 April at Charter Hall in Colchester, bringing together some of the UK’s most promising amateur MMA fighters. The event gives athletes a platform to gain experience, build their records, and earn recognition from the wider Cage Warriors organisation, while also delivering an action-packed night for local fight fans.
Created as a pathway into professional MMA, Cage Warriors Academy has become a key stepping stone for rising talent aiming to progress into the main Cage Warriors roster.
Jack “The Stone” Mason, a veteran fighter with a 29–17–1 record, plays a major role in running the Academy and developing the scene. He also co-owns BKK Fighters in Colchester, a gym that has produced several standout athletes. One of its most notable fighters, UFC featherweight Arnold “Almighty” Allen, also trains there and continues to compete at the highest level.
Several fighters from BKK Fighters and surrounding gyms will feature on the card. Mason “The Wolf” Kinsella, undefeated as an amateur at 8–0, makes his professional debut against Eddy Hourtal and is viewed as one of the event’s top prospects. Ben “Drago” Edwards (9–3–1), another BKK product, returns to action after a strong submission win last August and faces Michael Bensimon.
Liam “The Flash” Yeaman (3–2), training out of The Jiu Jitsu Sanctuary in Chelmsford, also returns following a successful Academy debut and will meet Alfie Newman.
From Force Submission, Darnell “Action” Jackson (6–1) competes in a title unification bout against Sam Hadley, bringing speed and sharp striking into the contest. Fellow gym athlete Ollie Sarwa has already progressed through the Academy system and now competes on Cage Warriors main events after winning the bantamweight title.
Cage Warriors Academy has produced several notable professionals, including Shanelle “The Nightmare” Dyer, Lone’er Kavanagh, and Tariq Pell, highlighting its role in developing future stars.
With careers on the line and a direct route to professional MMA, Cage Warriors Academy 41 promises a competitive night of fights. The event begins at 5pm BST and will be available live at Charter Hall, on UFC Fight Pass, and selected UK broadcast partners.
